Did You Miss Your Appointment??

Some of you may not realize that you just missed an important appointment—two or three, maybe.  Have you ever missed a dentist appointment or forgotten that you had a hair or lunch appointment?   You were likely mortified that you put someone out waiting for you to show up.  But imagine standing up someone infinitely more important…..like say, GOD???  You say, “I would never do that.”  Well, check it out.  Leviticus 23 calls them the Lords’s appointed times.  He set them up.  But how many of us have for most of our lives failed to even show up for the appointments?  Rosh Hashana, or Feast of Trumpets is just past, as well as Yom Kippur.  We are now in the middle of Feast of Tabernacles.  You say, “I’m a Christian, so they don’t apply.  Have you ever heard that the Word became flesh and dwelt (TABERNACLED) among us?  I suggest THIS may be the most appropriate time to celebrate His birth.

How many of you participate in the National Day of Prayer?  I see people assembling in Washington D.C. to pray with Muslims, Hindus, Budhists and people who do not worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  Is this pleasing to Him?  Do you know that He already HAS a national day of prayer?  It’s called Yom Kippur.  What would happen in our nation if just the people who claim to follow Him would only keep that appointment?

Read about HIS Appointed Times in Leviticus 23.  They are not a burden, they are a joy & He promises you will be blessed if you keep them.  Try it, you’ll like it!!!  Thousands and thousands of believers are realizing what joy and blessings we have missed by ignoring His Appointed Times.  Incidentally, pay particular attention to the very first appointment He mentions in verse 3.  How does that tie in with Genesis 2:3?  There’s still time to catch up.  The next appointment is right around the corner…don’t miss it!
