Blogging thru the Bible/ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE!

How many times did you repeat yourself to your children?  The same thing, over and over again.  Why?  Two reasons.  Children are forgetful.  We must remind them of what is really important.  Our heavenly Father knew that.  Below are only a few verses repeating the same instruction.  I CHALLENGE YOU to take a Strong’s concordance and look up every occurrence of the word “sabbath” in the Bible, both O.T. and N.T. Then tell me whether the scriptures themselves agree with commonly accepted Catholic and Protestant doctrine on this subject.

People tell me the Sabbath is only for the Jews.  These verses do not indicate that at all.  Read carefully the purpose of the sabbath.  Anyway, Genesis 2:3 indicates God set the seventh day apart as holy before there were any Hebrew people.  No one is able to show me where HE decided it was no longer holy.  Sadly, there is ample historical evidence to show that it was man and man-made religion who made the decision the seventh day was no longer holy.  Look it up.

Exodus 31:13 “You are to observe my shabbats: for this is a sign between me and you through all your generations; so that you will know that I am Adonai, who sets you apart for me.”

Exodus 34:21  “Six days you will work, but on the seventh day you are to rest—even in plowing time and harvest season you are to rest.”

Exodus 35:2 “On six days work is to be done, but the seventh is to be a holy day for you, a Shabbat of complete rest in honor of Adonai.”

Leviticus 19:2  “Every one of you is to revere his father and mother, and you are to keep my Shabbats; I am Adonai your God.”

Leviticus 19:30  “Keep my Shabbats, and revere my sanctuary; I am Adonai.”

Leviticus 23:1,2  “…The designated times of Adonai which you  are to proclaim as holy convocations are my designated times.  Work is to be done on six days; but the seventh day is a Shabbat of complete rest, a holy convocation; you are not to do any kind of work; it is a Shabbat for Adonai, even in your homes.”

ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE!  (I promise it will change your life and you will be blessed.)

  1. I like to tell people, ” REST is a COMMANDMENT!!!” God commanded us to rest. He knows what He’s doing!!!! Great post.

True, True, True. Sabbath is for ALL mankind. One day. Saturday, or Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. It is the Lords day. There is no argument. What God institutes only God can change. He never changed it. Very simple.

    • The Bible FINALLY made sense to me when after studying it all my life and 4 years of Bible college, I simply decided to believe what it said about the sabbath and the feasts….If we are truly grafted into Israel, there is one law and one people the way I understand it.

You are dead on 100% my friend. Do you go anywhere to worship.??

      • Sorry for the delay!
We are commanded to keep the 4th Commandment, not go to church on Sunday (not the sabbath). However, fellowship is also a biblical principle. That is why we meet together on Sabbath and the Feasts with like minded believers in our home. Blessings!
