“Does Adonai take as much pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying what Adonai says? Surely obeying is better than sacrifice and heeding orders than the fat of rams. For years, I thought I was pleasing God because of all the “religious” thing the church taught I should do, none of which were commanded by God, while at the same time, neglecting to do what He had commanded. I would never have dreamed of committing witchcraft or idolatry, but my disobedience to His written word made me just as guilty. At some point, I had to make a decision to choose the commandments of God over the traditions of men.
Although we may have the approval of those around us, we need to remember that apart from obedience to HIS commandments, we will not have His approval, though we may fool ourselves into thinking we are pleasing Him.
