“For this mitzvah which I am giving you today is not too hard for you, it is not beyond your reach.” Deuteronomy 30:11 (CJB)
That reminds me of a similar passage:
“Here is how we know that we love God’s children: when we love God, we also do what he commands. For loving God means obeying His commands. Moreover, his commands are not burdensome.” I John 5:2, 3 (CJB)
We all come up with excuses for why we can’t obey God. The excuses range from, “He made me mad,” to “My church doesn’t teach that,” to “I don’t have time,” or “I’m too tired.”
But He clearly tells us two things:
1. His commands are not too burdensome for us.
2. Our obedience shows how much or how little we love God and how much or how little we love other people.
